I wouldn’t place much hope on official investigation in Europe to get definitive answers, they usually only provide final conclusions when evidence are very obvious, which is understandable since their approach is scientific.

For example, ferry Estonia sank 20 years ago and there is still no definitive answer why it sank. There are plenty reports how it sank (mostly due to gravity and water being liquid) but no final answer why, even after numerous official investigations.
