It is possible to say with confidence, that one of your π pillars is writing. I have no opinion about bootcamps, though I fully agree on an art/design universities part, and still I enjoyed reading a lot, just because it is so readable.

Studying a graphic design and later design for sustainability, I have transitioned from a designer in advertisement agency to a UX person in a product management team (whatever that implies), while having my periods of video production and sustainability communications. All this thanks to university education. So I fully agree on benefits of a formal design education.

And I was never good at visual design :) however I tried, so I know the feeling :)
