It reminded me of university years, where according to some students, canceling money will somehow improve the world. As if all problems are from money and not people who use it :)

But you are right, it makes more sense to first secure your own financial situation (at least to some extent) and already then contribute to making world a better place. Just keep social activism to student years. Also based on personal experience.
